Medical spas are big business. According to the International SPA Association (ISPA), they are the fastest-growing segment of the spa industry. The appeal of medical spas to consumers, physicians and investors can be recognized by doing a Web search on them. However, not everyone agrees on exactly what the term a medical spa means. I believe that it should be reserved for facilities that employ an on-site physician to perform esthetic medical treatments and to oversee the spa services provided.
